Subject: need help debugging ls-R
I just rebuilt web2c-6.1 using posted patches, but I don't think it's
working.
I put ls-R db in /usr/local/lib/texmf, but when I run latex I see:
[...]
)/usr/local/lib/texmf/tex/.nfss2/latex209.cfg: Permission denied
/usr/local/lib/texmf/tex/.nfss2/latex209.cfg.tex: Permission denied
)/usr/local/lib/texmf/tex/.nfss2/amsart.cls: Permission denied
/usr/local/lib/texmf/tex/.nfss2/amsart.cls.tex: Permission denied
[...]
The 'permission denied' is a new kpathsea feature, but if the ls-R db
was used this would not have happened. The hidden directories
(.nfss2) are NOT in the ls-R db.
So I don't think the ls-R is even being used. How can I debug this?
Any help greatly appreciated!
